Overview

Yi-sîi Fêqê was founded durring the late 14th century in spring of the year 1277, by Caerium Brêyëkdo. The establishment of Yi-sîi Fêqê suffered from many setbacks, delays, and obsticles, most notably a group of Yi-sîi Fêqê which required millitary assistance exterminate before the community could finish being built.

Yi-sîi Fêqê was built using the conventions of Iron Elven durring the late 14th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Yi-sîi Fêqê is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Yi-sîi Fêqê is is constructed arround a semi-circular premissive cobblestone mainstreet, with smaller strait roads linking the circiles to eachother at varrious points. The town rests behind a thick wall made from clay bricks. The wall has all of the proper fortifications and is well made. Unfortuantly the nature of clay brick leaves it quite vulnerable to siege equipment, though the thickness of the wall lends it simmilar resistnace to a thinner hardrock wall. The millitarily questionable fortifications has suffered a visible ammount of structural damage, leaving them effectivly useless. One can't help but wonder why the has not yet effected repairs.

Before you’ve even set foot into the heart of Yi-sîi Fêqê, you can smell it. The incense. It hangs about the town like a cloud. Monks, priests, and clerics are everywhere, all dedicated to the same god, all preforming the same rituals to bless and anoint building,s streets, people, animals, you name it they are or have blessed it. The same holysymbols is everywhere too. Its on buildings, on people, and even branded into livestock. This town certainly loves its god.

Cultural Notes

There’s a relatively new religion in Yi-sîi Fêqê which is rapidly gaining power. It might be a sectarian offshoot of a major faith, the unique product of a new prophet, or an outside faith backed by wealthy and powerful foreign supporters. Depending on the demands made on believers, the new faith may be a matter of concern only to the existing clergy, or it might be a major flashpoint for conflict in the community.

Yi-sîi Fêqê's bank was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is characterized by vertical proportions, pointed arches, external buttressing, and asymmetry in the general shape of its buildings. The decorative features of the style were key, consisting of large arched windows, pointed arches, vaulted ceilings, flying buttresses, and sculptures integrated into the structure itself. Occasionally, for very important buildings, an array of sculptures or one colossal sculpture might replace the entirety of the entrance to said building.

In Yi-sîi Fêqê sometimes, near one of the seasonal solstices, the sun appears to split into three and it rains from a clear sky for several hours.

The Serpentfolk near Yi-sîi Fêqê are known to be quite timid.

Yi-sîi Fêqê's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in autumn and involves performance art to channel Elven High Magic energies of tier 3 via throat chanting.

Points of Interest

Yi-sîi Fêqê's roads were poorly made when first laid. Rather than repairing them correctly, a series of new roads was laid atop the old, leading to the streets of modern Yi-sîi Fêqê suffering from potholes, cracking, and even sinkholes. The locals often repair the road by putting down wooden decking.

History

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the late 2nd century, Yi-sîi Fêqê was attacked by soldiers from another nation, with orders to raid Yi-sîi Fêqê. The details of the conflict are hazy at best due to many conflicting accounts. What is known is Yi-sîi Fêqê lost 106 people, 298 livestock, and 74 buildings. The conflict ended after roughly 143, when members of Yi-sîi Fêqê's militia enacted an operation to patrol a specific area to dissuade the enemy from their current activities. The operation was complicated by aggravated civilians, who cause problems for the militia for a host of reasons. The conflict ended with pitched battle between both forces, which ended in victory for Yi-sîi Fêqê's forces. The war is remembered in legend by Yi-sîi Fêqê's bards, historians, and legend keepers.
